THE GOOD SHEPHERD
Based on the novel by Gunnar Gunnarsson, which sold over 1.000.000 copies world wide
The Good Shepherd takes place in the unforgiving wilderness of northern Iceland. Each year in the weeks leading up to Christmas Night the self-assigned good shepherd, Benedikt, goes into the mountains to gather the sheep that were left behind during the autumn's sheep gathering and brings a little flock home through blizzards and perils.
When the story was translated into English, the Icelandic shepherd Fjalla-Bensi came to circulate in world literature, where he acquired descendants: in Iceland it is generally believed that the book was Hemingway’s inspiration for The Old Man and the Sea
